The British-American Conservative is published by Stephen M. Thompson, Ph.D. (Cantab.). He is an editor, writer, and consultant in Washington, D.C., and Tucson, Arizona, with over a decade of government experience in Congress and the Executive Branch. He also worked at the Republican National Committee in the 1990s and participated in drafting portions of the Contract With America, and was principal author of the Republican Party’s campaign briefing book for the historic 1994 elections. From 2005 to 2006, he was a senior editor at Regnery Publishing, where he edited 11 books in 18 months. Among his authors were Newt Gingrich, David Limbaugh, and Mark Skousen. He was also the managing editor for Rep. Devin Nunes’ Restoring the Republic (WND, 2010) and executive editor of Prof. Gary Wolfram’s A Capitalist Manifesto (Dunlap Goddard, 2013, Hillsdale College Edition). Educated at Cambridge University, the London School of Economics, and the University of California, he lived in Cambridge and London during most of Margaret Thatcher’s time as prime minister, and experienced firsthand how she changed British history, becoming a lifelong Thatcherite. He and Nile Gardiner are the co-authors of Margaret Thatcher on Leadership: Lessons for American Conservatives Today (Regnery 2013).
